Early WW2 in 15mm

Our last game was set in early WW2 with the Germans attacking a couple of French held towns on their way to dominating France.

The rules were Rapid Fire.

The Germans began by attacking the French Right and centre.
The French centre town.

Over on the French left the Germans attempted to block any chance of the French reinforcing their centre.
French reserves moving up to the centre town.

The centre French town.

Citroen trucks parked by one of the French towns.

The German attack on the French right was proving to be hard work. After suffering heavy casualties the Germans were almost in.
The Germans were blasting the centre town with 88's and some 105's before the infantry bailed out of their trucks to storm the town.
More German support.

Trusty 88.

Tank attacks with infantry support was the order of the day.
The German tanks rolled past the first French held town to take on the waiting French armour that was coming up in support.

In the end it was all in vain as the French managed to hold on to the towns until nightfall.
Despite the Germans having the greater numbers they were unable to take any more French towns.
Very costly for the Germans but I can see a re-match coming!

Thanks to Adrian for supplying all the buildings, troops and vehicles as well as running the game.

  1. Nice looking game :)
I've thus far resisted the 50% early war sale on Flames of War stuff ...

    1. Adrian did make a few mods to the basic rules. I could email the QRS that we used if you want Scott.
