Gettysburg

The battle of Gettysburg was fought on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of July 1863. Now, 150 years later we are re fighting the second and third days of this famous battle on the 6th&7th of July in Christchurch NZ.

Here are some photos of a practise game based on the first day of the battle.

  1. Gentlemen:
Very nice appearance to your preliminary action. Just wanted to mention that most of the main roads on the battlefield were lined with well maintained fences that provided cover as well as an obstacle to movemnt. Also the roads themselves were sunken below the level of the fields some 18" to 24" and we know many CSA troops involved in Pickett's Charge could shelter in them. You might want to include these as factors in playing out the second and third days of the historic battle.

    1. I think the Reb's were doing okay but just hadn't quite done enough to claim all the victory points. As far as the Rebels were concerned, they won but the Union fellas tried to suggest that just because not ALL the victroy conditions had been met therefore the Union won. The Union turkeys can be like that!!! not like southern gentlemen!
